I have no idea what causes that ‘baby-rattle’ noise. Annoying!

On to the post’s point:

Driving can be as independent an activity as any. Uniquely, driving forces one to exist in the present and make a multitude of independent and simultaneous mental connections to safely operate a motorcar at any speed. This is a state of being worth fighting for, whatever the interchangeable activity: the mental and physical state that is free, e.g. Independent, of coercion. And this state of existence, having the right to think and act on one’s thoughts, was fought for, ending up in description in the Declaration of Independence.

Happy Independence Day! Let us have that mean something again . . .
